Monroe County History Center explores the history and culture of Bloomington and the surrounding county from a former Carnegie library downtown.

Galleries and local-history collections connect the community’s changing institutions with the lives of its residents.
Check the current exhibition program before visiting and use the center’s directions to its Washington Street entrance. Museum browsing and genealogy-library research may follow different arrangements, with research appointments advised. The location near the courthouse square makes it convenient to pair a visit with a walk through central Bloomington.
