Museum of Northern California Art, known as monca, occupies the former Veterans Memorial Hall on Chico’s Esplanade.
Its exhibitions focus attention on artists and creative communities of northern California, with changing presentations that make the region itself the starting point for exploring art.
Check the current exhibition program before visiting: works from the collection and temporary shows are not necessarily displayed at the same time. The museum also presents talks and community events that can add context to the galleries. Leave time to appreciate the historic building as well as the artwork within it.
