Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City preserves locomotives, rail cars and stories from the state’s railway past.

Historic equipment, including material associated with the Virginia and Truckee Railroad, connects engineering and travel with Nevada’s communities and industries.
Plan a gallery visit around current opening days, and check the operating calendar separately if a train ride is important to you. Rides run on selected dates and are not included in ordinary museum admission. Allow time to study the equipment and interpretation, and follow staff instructions around tracks, platforms and any operating machinery.
