Ocean Institute in Dana Point Harbor connects marine science with maritime history through exhibits and educational programs.

Its waterfront campus provides a base for learning about Southern California’s ocean environment and seafaring heritage.
General public admission is normally offered on weekends, with weekdays devoted to school visits and other scheduled programs. Check the current calendar before booking. The aerial photograph shows the actual campus in an earlier period; vessels visible in it are not a promise of today’s fleet. Whale cruises, tall-ship sails and other activities have separate tickets and schedules. Choose the program you want rather than expecting every harbor experience with general admission.
