The John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park places large-scale contemporary art within an open downtown Des Moines landscape.

The outdoor setting lets visitors approach the works from different angles and see how sculpture changes against the skyline, grass, and shifting daylight.
Follow the paths and allow time to look around each work rather than rushing between photo stops. The park is an easy addition to a downtown walk, but weather and events can affect the experience. Consult the Des Moines Art Center's guidance on visiting and interacting with the sculptures.
