Reiman Gardens at Iowa State University in Ames combines outdoor garden spaces with specialized plant and insect collections.
Seasonal planting, garden design and the butterfly setting provide different reasons to visit throughout the year.
Check current admission and which indoor or outdoor areas are available before arriving. Blooming displays and butterfly activity vary, so allow the season to shape your visit. The photograph shows one planted view within the garden. Classes and special events have separate schedules, and the neighboring football stadium’s game days can affect traffic and parking.
