Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park preserves an adobe building that housed Indigenous families during the mission period.

Exhibits examine mission life through the experiences of Ohlone and Yokuts people, including the disruption and coercion caused by the Spanish mission system. The photograph shows the surviving adobe.
Use California State Parks’ current opening schedule to plan a visit to the exhibits and grounds on Mission Hill. The state historic park occupies a different building from the nearby mission chapel, so follow directions to School Street. School programs and special events have separate arrangements. Check current park notices before traveling, particularly around holidays or volunteer events.
Visitor details reviewed October 27, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
