Slater Mill

- Regional draw
- Pawtucket
Slater Mill preserves an early water-powered textile-mill complex beside the Blackstone River in Pawtucket.

The site connects industrial technology with the workers, communities and economic changes that accompanied the growth of factory production in New England.
Check the National Park Service’s current tour schedule before arriving. Access to Old Slater Mill and the other buildings is not interchangeable; neighboring structures may remain closed for safety and accessibility work. A ranger-led visit offers context for the machinery and labor history, while the riverside setting helps explain why the mill was built here.
