The South Coast Railroad Museum occupies the historic Goleta Depot, a former Southern Pacific station built in 1901.

Exhibits explain the railroad’s role in the Goleta Valley, and the museum’s Goleta Short Line adds a miniature-train element to a visit.
Plan around the museum’s current weekend opening schedule, published as Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The last train tickets are sold before closing, so arrive with time for both the depot and any ride you want to take. Train operation and special events can have separate arrangements. The photograph shows the historic depot itself, rather than an active passenger station for regular rail travel.
