Tackapausha Preserve protects woodland, ponds and stream habitats in Seaford.

Marked trails connect its different sections, while the associated museum offers a more structured introduction to Long Island ecology.
Use current Nassau County maps for entrances and road crossings between preserve sections. Museum opening and admission arrangements are separate from a walk on authorized trails. The photograph shows an earlier creek-side view rather than a current exhibit or guaranteed wildlife encounter. Respect habitat boundaries and temporary closures after storms or maintenance.
