A former Telfair family mansion houses an art destination on Savannah's Barnard Street. Designed by William Jay and later adapted as a museum, the Academy connects historic domestic architecture with an important chapter in the city's public cultural life.
Give the building and collections time together rather than treating the Academy only as a house exterior. Check current Telfair Museums ticket and visitor arrangements, particularly if combining it with the separate Jepson Center or Owens-Thomas site.
