White Tank Mountain Regional Park protects a broad desert mountain landscape west of the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Ridges, canyons, and marked trails offer a more rugged outing than an urban park, while the park's visitor information helps distinguish routes of different lengths and difficulty. It lies outside Surprise, near Waddell, and requires a deliberate trip to the park entrance.
Check park alerts before choosing a route: the Trailhead Staging Area is currently affected by construction through October 31, 2026. Carry sufficient water, avoid dangerous heat, and remain alert to sudden changes in desert weather. Follow posted access restrictions and check current entrance and camping arrangements.
