About Warehouse District

Raleigh’s Warehouse District puts apartments and condominiums among reused industrial buildings, Hargett Street groceries and separate rail and regional bus stations.

Apartments and condominiums share blocks with commercial uses

The Downtown Raleigh Alliance lists The Dillon Downtown Apartments at 401 West Hargett Street and Park Devereux Condominiums at 200 South Dawson Street within the Warehouse District. These newer residential buildings sit among older industrial premises, shops and restaurants west of Downtown’s central business streets.

The street-facing unit, courtyard-facing apartment and home overlooking a rail approach offer different settings within the same district. During a viewing, locate the bedrooms relative to outdoor dining, loading access and tracks, and follow the entrance route from the sidewalk or parking deck. The district directory identifies buildings; it does not show current vacancies or rents.

Weaver Street Market provides a daily grocery stop

Weaver Street Market at 404 West Hargett Street, inside The Dillon, posts daily hours of 8 a.m.–9 p.m. It offers a grocery destination separate from the district’s restaurants and food counters.

The store validates one hour in The Dillon parking deck with a purchase of at least $10 and offers curbside pickup for purchases that are difficult to carry. That arrangement is useful for a larger shop; a nearby apartment entrance may make smaller trips on foot easier. Store hours and parking terms were checked October 18, 2026.

Trains and regional buses board at different addresses

Raleigh Union Station’s train terminal is at 510 West Martin Street. RUS Bus, the adjacent regional bus facility, is at 525 West Hargett Street. Being near one entrance does not put a home at every boarding point in the station area.

GoTriangle lists Route 300 between RUS Bus, NC State and Cary Depot, while Route 100 connects Downtown Raleigh, NC State, RDU and the Regional Transit Center. A campus or airport trip includes the selected service’s stop and the journey after leaving the bus. The operator’s full fare is $2.50; two separately paid rides total $5 before discounts or pass arrangements. Routes and fares were checked October 18, 2026.

Videri offers a short daytime stop, with later Friday and Saturday hours

Videri Chocolate Factory at 327 West Davie Street offers free self-guided factory visits during opening hours. Paid staff-led tours need separate booking. The posted shop schedule is 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m.–9 p.m. Friday–Saturday and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Sunday.

Friday and Saturday are the only nights in this posted schedule when an after-6 p.m. visit is possible. Hours were checked October 18, 2026.

CAM’s Martin Street building is currently closed

CAM Raleigh’s October 2026 notice says the museum is temporarily closed and its building at 409 West Martin Street is being sold. The institution is considering a new space or different programming model; a replacement venue has not been settled in that announcement.

Older district descriptions still identify CAM as a visitor destination. The Martin Street building should not be treated as an open gallery when planning a visit or weighing the amenities near a home.

Check these on a visit

Try these in person before you commit to an address in Warehouse District.

  1. Walk from a prospective apartment entrance to Weaver Street Market on Hargett Street.
  2. Distinguish Union Station’s Martin Street train entrance from RUS Bus on Hargett Street.
  3. Notice which rooms face restaurants, delivery access or the station approaches.
