Historic-property maps and renovation applications have separate City resources
The City’s Historic District Viewer shows designated properties. A listing’s use of the name Cathedral does not establish whether a home is inside that mapped district. For a proposed renovation, the Board of Historic Preservation page provides a property application and rehabilitation standards. Its neighborhood and preservation planner is available at 605-367-8889.
Residential building-permit submissions go through the City’s Customer Self Service portal. Building Services answers permit questions at 605-367-8670. The preservation page also links rehabilitation standards and past board agendas, while the building portal tracks permit submissions.
