About University North

University North places homes north of Colorado State University, with apartment options such as Max Flats on Mason Street and groceries on South College Avenue. The Mason transit corridor links campus and Downtown; Morgan Library offers services for eligible community borrowers as well as CSU students and staff.

Max Flats on South Mason Street

Max Flats at 505 South Mason Street is one University North rental example, with studios through three-bedroom apartments. Richmark’s property page lists washers and dryers in every apartment, covered parking with limited spaces, a fitness studio and private balconies in selected units. Max Flats also lists bike storage.

For a household bringing a car, the limited covered-parking supply is a specific question for the lease quote: the published amenities do not promise a space with every apartment. The Flats leasing office lists 970-425-1916.

MAX for the city, HORN across campus

MAX runs along the Mason corridor between the Downtown and South transit centers, serving CSU and Midtown. Around the HORN has a different job: its cross-campus route serves the CSU Transit Center, the Veterinary Hospital and Education Complex, Lake Street Garage and Moby Arena. HORN connects with MAX at University Station and is intended for visitors as well as students and staff.

The HORN page checked October 20, 2026 carries Engineering Lot detours with linked northbound and southbound stop maps. Those notices matter when choosing a campus pickup point. Transfort remains fare-free, but the August 2026 service changes ended Sunday service; a Sunday campus or grocery trip needs another travel option.

Lucky’s Market on South College

Lucky’s Market at 425 South College Avenue opens 7 a.m.–9 p.m. daily according to the store’s current page. The Downtown Fort Collins directory gives its local number as 970-482-0388.

Morgan Library for community borrowers

Morgan Library is on the nearby CSU campus at 1201 Center Avenue Mall. Adult Colorado residents and CSU alumni can use its community-borrower services. Residents apply at the Library Services desk with a current Colorado driver’s license or state ID; the account needs an email address, and the card is renewed annually. The desk number is 970-491-1841.

Community services include borrowing books, public-computer use for up to two hours daily and Wi-Fi on a personal device without that time limit. Printing is paid. Community borrowers access databases inside Morgan Library. Their account excludes remote database access, Interlibrary Loan and Prospector.
