Maple Street housing settings, Route 4 and everyday services
About Benson
Benson’s Maple Street center puts music venues and arts spaces close to surrounding homes. Route 4 links the area with Downtown and Westroads, Benson Branch Library is on Binney Street, and Baker’s Benson Plaza is a separate grocery destination on 72nd Street. The mapped association area extends beyond the business blocks.
Maple Street activity and small-lot housing offer different settings
Benson’s restaurant, bar and music center follows Maple Street. The Waiting Room Lounge at 6212 Maple Street brings touring and local performances into an older commercial building. For a nearby home, the position of the entrance and bedrooms relative to that corridor matters more than the Benson name alone.
On Corby Street, the OurStory project illustrates another housing form: small-lot infill. UNL’s July 2026 report describes a two-bedroom Corby House of 802 square feet and a one-bedroom Benson House of 618 square feet. These are specific demonstration designs, not current available listings or sizes representative of every Benson home.
Baker’s Benson Plaza is on 72nd Street, away from the music blocks
Baker’s Benson Plaza at 4405 North 72nd Street lists grocery pickup, a bakery and deli. Its 72nd Street location is separate from the 60th–62nd Street stretch of Maple where many entertainment destinations cluster. A home close to the music venues can therefore involve a different journey for a larger food shop.
The operator also lists a drive-through pharmacy, with its own opening schedule. A prescription pickup and a food shop can therefore have different time limits at the same site. Location and listed services were checked October 18, 2026.
Route 4 gives Benson a direct Downtown bus corridor
Route 4 links Benson with Downtown via Maple and Cuming, with Westroads Transit Center at the other end. Its current timetable includes a weekday eastbound departure from 60th and Maple at 7:41 a.m., reaching 14th and Dodge at 8:03 a.m. That example is 22 minutes on the scheduled bus, before the walks and any waiting.
A home away from Maple and a workplace beyond 14th and Dodge add their own approaches to that trip. The return uses the westbound timetable, with separate Saturday and Sunday schedules. Metro lists the adult regular cash fare as $1.25; Umo, tickets and passes are also accepted on buses. Timetable and fare information were checked October 18, 2026.
Benson Branch has rooms and printing on Binney Street
Benson Branch Library is at 6015 Binney Street. It lists accessible facilities, computers, free Wi-Fi, printing and scanning, plus meeting and study rooms. Its regular hours are 9 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday–Saturday; Sunday is closed.
The branch is a separate Binney Street destination from the Maple Street venues. Its page links room reservations, public events and holiday closures, making it useful for more than a book pickup. Hours were checked October 18, 2026.
Petshop has specific public gallery windows
BFF Omaha’s Petshop combines galleries, artist studios, offices and event space along North 62nd Street. It posts regular gallery opening on Thursdays from 5–7 p.m., with monthly exhibition openings during First Friday art walks from 6–10 p.m.
The artists use the studios throughout the year, but that does not mean the gallery opens every day. For a neighborhood visit centered on art, those public windows create a different routine from a concert at a Maple Street venue. Current exhibitions and exceptions are linked through BFF’s calendar.
