About Oxnard Shores

Oxnard Shores’ coastal residential streets share the area with The Colony’s condominiums, mobile-home communities and ‘olołkoy Beach Park. Everyday arrangements include paid park parking, inland grocery trips and the Seabridge bus connection; short-stay rentals have a city permit map and complaint route.

Residential streets, The Colony and mobile-home communities

Oxnard Shores’ neighborhood council describes an area west of Harbor Boulevard, between Fifth Street and Channel Islands Boulevard, with the Pacific to the west. Its community page includes residential streets from Channel Way to Beach Way, The Colony and mobile-home communities at the northern and southern ends.

The Colony is a gated condominium community within this wider coastal setting. A local specialist’s floorplan catalog groups four Seaside Villas layouts and five Beach Homes layouts, with a printable community map. These provide a way to identify the layout and position of a Colony home during a housing search.

The city has a vacation-rental permit map and complaint hotline

Oxnard’s short-term-rental rules require a city permit for rentals of fewer than 30 consecutive days, subject to the ordinance’s provisions. The city’s STR page links its approved-rental map, giving residents a way to investigate a neighboring short-stay property.

For a rental-related nuisance, the city lists 805-253-3945 and its online STR complaint form, which accepts supporting photos, videos and documents. Permit inquiries go to info.str@oxnard.org.

Beach-park hours and cash parking

‘olołkoy Beach Park is at 1601 South Harbor Boulevard. The city lists daily opening hours of 7 a.m.–7 p.m., a playground, volleyball, picnic shelters, tables and barbecues. Dogs are allowed on leash in the park. These park amenities are separate from private condominium recreation facilities.

Visit Oxnard’s current beach guide lists parking as cash-only at $1 per hour or $5 for the day, checked October 24, 2026. For park-facility questions, the city gives 805-385-7950.

Grocery and pharmacy trips on Victoria Avenue

Vons at 1291 South Victoria Avenue, near Wooley Road, is an inland grocery option beyond Oxnard Shores’ Harbor Boulevard edge. The store lists 6 a.m.–11 p.m. hours every day, grocery pickup and delivery, a bakery, deli and pharmacy.

The pharmacy operates on a different schedule: its weekday hours are 8 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 1–8 p.m., with shorter weekend hours. Weekend pharmacy hours are 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 1–5 p.m. The midday closure applies on those days too.

Route 5 is an inland connection at Seabridge

Gold Coast Transit’s Route 5 connects the Hemlock, Seabridge and Wooley area with downtown Oxnard Transit Center. Its stop list includes Hemlock and Patterson and Wooley and Victoria. The operator describes service roughly every 45–50 minutes and publishes separate eastbound and westbound stop lists.

A trip from the coastal streets includes reaching one of those inland stops. At Oxnard Transit Center, Route 5 connects with Routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 19, among other services. The return-direction stop list provides the relevant boarding points for coming home.
