Ashland Downtown Historic District preserves the commercial core around the Plaza and Main Street.

Brick storefronts and decorated upper stories reflect the town’s transition from milling and agriculture to railway commerce and a visitor-oriented cultural center.
The photograph shows an actual downtown streetscape. Explore on public sidewalks, allowing time to look above shop signs and compare buildings from different periods. Shops, theaters and restaurants keep their own schedules and admission arrangements. The district’s historic designation does not grant access to private rooms or performance spaces. Check current downtown events and street notices before combining the walk with a show.
