B.B. Clarke Beach Park is a compact Lake Monona shoreline park on Madison’s isthmus.

Trees and waterside space make it a pleasant place to pause, while the beach, playground and designated paddle access offer different seasonal activities. The shelter in the photograph sits within the park.
There are no lifeguards, and swimming depends on current beach-water conditions. Check the city’s water-quality information and seasonal notices before entering the lake. The former swimming raft is no longer installed. Fishing and equipment storage have separate requirements, and park alcohol restrictions apply.
