Birmingham Botanical Gardens provides a series of planted landscapes and quieter paths in the city, with different garden areas offering their own character.

Birmingham Botanical Gardens brings several distinct planted landscapes together on Lane Park Road. The Japanese Garden has a red torii, a dry landscape garden of rocks and raked gravel, a teahouse, a lake and a bamboo grove.
The Southern Living Garden provides a different setting: a perennial border, a reflecting pool and a native azalea walk arranged around an intimate Southern home-garden design. These named gardens give the grounds more variety than one continuous flower display; seasonal planting changes their appearance through the year.
