Canemah Historic District preserves the character of an early Willamette River community at Oregon City’s southwestern edge.

Historic houses and a steep, wooded setting reflect the former riverboat town’s role in trade and boatbuilding above Willamette Falls.
Explore from public streets using the city’s historic-resource information. Narrow roads and hillside terrain require care, and most houses are private residences rather than tour attractions. Do not enter yards, railway property or riverfront industrial land. Nearby natural-area trails have separate access information and should be planned as a distinct part of the outing.
