Chicano Park

Chicano Park is a community-created public space in San Diego’s Barrio Logan, known for murals painted on and around the bridge structures overhead.

Chicano Park

Its history is closely tied to the neighborhood’s 1970 campaign to secure land for a park.

Spend time with the murals as works of public art connected with the community’s social and cultural history. The steering committee provides historical context, tour information and a current event calendar. A normal park visit differs from attending the annual Chicano Park Day commemoration or entering the separate museum and cultural center. The photograph shows murals at the actual park. Respect artwork, neighborhood activity and any event-specific rules.
