Chip Ross Park and Natural Area protects oak woodland and hilltop habitat on the north side of Corvallis.

Its trails offer a short nature outing and connections with the much larger McDonald Forest trail system.
The photograph shows fern and lichen along the park’s Lower Dan Trail during an earlier visit. Use the designated Lester Avenue access or an authorized connecting trail, and prepare for natural surfaces and changing weather. The park is a designated off-leash area, so expect dogs on shared routes. Bicycling and horse use follow seasonal trail designations; check current signs before choosing a route.
