Diamond Head State Monument offers a hike through the volcanic crater landscape of Lēʻahi above Honolulu.

The route combines steep sections, historic defensive structures, and broad coastal views, giving the familiar landmark a very different character when experienced on foot. It is an exposed walk that deserves more preparation than its urban setting might suggest.
Check current reservation, entry, trail, and parking requirements before traveling. Carry water, wear suitable footwear, and allow time for the climb and descent within the published access window, particularly in hot conditions.
