Effie Yeaw Nature Center combines environmental and cultural education with a nature-study landscape along the American River Parkway in Carmichael.

Trails through woodland and river-side habitat provide opportunities to observe wildlife, while indoor exhibits and programs add context to the outdoor setting.
Indoor openings and trail access have different schedules, and county parking charges apply. Drivers must approach through Tarshes Drive and California Avenue because the San Lorenzo vehicle entrance is permanently locked. Dogs are not allowed in the nature-study area, apart from qualifying service animals. Stay on trails, do not feed wildlife and check group-visit arrangements in advance.
Visitor details reviewed October 27, 2026. Consult primary place information for background, and confirm current access and operating arrangements before visiting. View on OpenStreetMap.
