Gordon–Van Tine Company Historic District preserves part of Davenport’s early twentieth-century industrial heritage.

The surviving commercial and factory buildings are associated with a company known for mail-order kit houses, an important strand of American housing history. The photograph shows the actual historic complex.
View the architecture from permitted public streets around Federal and Charlotte streets, using the National Register map to identify the buildings. Historic designation does not provide factory tours or access to private interiors, yards or loading areas. Respect present occupants, keep service entrances clear and check current pedestrian routes before planning a short industrial-history stop.
Visitor details reviewed October 27, 2026. Consult primary place information for background, and confirm current access and operating arrangements before visiting. View on OpenStreetMap.
