Herty Field is a landscaped green on the University of Georgia’s historic Athens campus, on ground formerly used for early university athletics.

The lawn, fountain and surrounding academic buildings give it a quieter present-day role as a place to pause during a campus walk.
Follow public campus routes and current university parking instructions when visiting. The green is distinct from Sanford Stadium and is not presented as an active football venue. The photograph shows the field’s landscaped setting; academic buildings nearby have their own entry arrangements and should not be treated as open museums.
