Morton Theatre is a historic performance space at Athens’s Hot Corner, built by African American businessman Monroe Morton.

Its stage and auditorium connect the city’s cultural life with a history of Black entrepreneurship and entertainment, while the building continues to support scheduled events.
Choose a performance or an announced public visiting opportunity from the theater’s current information. A historic exterior does not mean the auditorium is freely accessible between bookings. The photograph shows the interior stage and seating from an earlier occasion; programs and room arrangements vary.
