House of the Seven Gables

- Salem
The House of the Seven Gables combines a historic Salem mansion with a waterfront museum setting associated with Nathaniel Hawthorne’s novel.

Guided interpretation connects the buildings with local domestic and literary history rather than presenting the site as a preserved scene from the fictional story.
Choose the current admission or tour product through the museum and check access to the different parts of the grounds. Special programs can have separate bookings. The photograph shows the mansion exterior, one component of the museum campus; it does not indicate that every building is included in every visit.
