Salem Maritime National Historical Park preserves waterfront places associated with the port’s seafaring and commercial history.

Wharves, historic buildings and harbor views help explain how Salem connected with Atlantic and overseas trade. The park is spread across the waterfront rather than enclosed behind a single museum entrance.
Begin with National Park Service visitor information to see which buildings, tours and programs are available on your chosen date. Outdoor grounds and staffed interiors can follow different schedules, especially outside the main visitor season. The photograph shows Derby House, one component of the park, rather than the entire waterfront.
