Kubota Garden brings Japanese garden design together with Pacific Northwest plants in Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood.

Fujitaro Kubota began shaping the landscape in 1927, and its hills, ponds, bridges and stonework now form a public garden with routes through contrasting planted settings.
Admission is free, with the garden open during daylight hours. Check current entrance notices: construction on 55th Avenue may divert vehicles through the south gate. Some paths have gravel surfaces and changes in grade, so consult the garden map for easier routes. Keep dogs leashed, stay out of planted beds and reserve organized tours separately.
