Los Osos Oaks State Natural Reserve protects old coast live oaks and associated coastal plant communities east of Los Osos.

Walking trails reveal a landscape of ancient dunes, woodland and scrub close to Morro Bay.
The photograph shows flowering coyote brush within the reserve during an earlier visit. Plan a low-impact walk on designated paths, protecting roots, vegetation and archaeological traces. Dogs, bicycles and equestrians are prohibited, and there are no restrooms or picnic facilities. Check current access notices before travelling and prepare for uneven surfaces, poison oak and cooler coastal weather.
