Morro Strand State Beach protects a broad stretch of Pacific shoreline north of Morro Rock.

Sand, dunes and coastal views make it a useful destination for a beach walk away from the harbor’s busier streets.
Choose an authorized entrance using the state park map and check current notices for dunes, wildlife protection and beach conditions. Surf and cold water require care regardless of how calm the shoreline looks. The photograph shows the beach with Morro Rock in the background; camping and other reserved uses have separate arrangements.
