Moss Rock Preserve in Hoover protects woodland, streams and substantial sandstone outcrops.

Its trail network allows visitors to explore a varied landscape where distinctive rock formations sit close to surrounding neighborhoods.
Choose a marked route from the current preserve map and match it to your ability and conditions. The photograph shows a rock formation within the preserve. Climbing requires appropriate knowledge and equipment, and ordinary trail access does not make every outcrop safe to ascend. Respect protected plants, keep to permitted routes and follow current notices after rain or maintenance work.
