Museum of Making Music explores the instruments and music-products industry behind familiar sounds.

Galleries connect how instruments are made, sold, and played with the changing place of music in American life. Hands-on stations add opportunities to try selected instruments alongside historical interpretation.
Check current admission, gallery hours, and the event calendar before arriving at Armada Drive in Carlsbad. Concerts and educational sessions follow their own ticketing arrangements. Docent-led group tours need advance scheduling, and visitors should use instruments only in the designated interactive areas and follow staff guidance.
Visitor details reviewed October 18, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
