Oakland Zoo combines animal habitats and conservation interpretation in the Oakland hills.

Its setting and spread of exhibits make it a substantial outdoor visit, with opportunities to connect familiar animals to the environments and conservation challenges discussed throughout the grounds.
Plan around the areas most important to your group and leave time for the distances and changes in elevation between them. Animal care, weather, and maintenance can affect particular experiences. Check current ticket availability and arrival guidance before traveling; ticket-sales arrangements may change, and some activities operate separately from general admission.
