Silver Sands State Park combines a beach, boardwalk and tidal-marsh landscape in Milford.

Views toward Charles Island give the shoreline a distinctive character, with opportunities for a coastal walk and seasonal recreation.
Check current tides and state-park restrictions before planning any shore route. The sandbar overwashes with dangerous currents; never cross when covered, and island crossing is prohibited during the nesting-season closure from May 1 through September 9. The photograph shows an earlier exposed sandbar and island view rather than evidence that a crossing is safe or permitted today.
