For a bus journey that begins at The Hub, Delano puts the interchange in your neighborhood. College Hill has named stops along Douglas Avenue, a Dillons grocery and pharmacy, and College Hill Park south of the corridor. The two apartment examples below handle utilities and garage charges differently.
Rent quotes: included services and extra bills
At 225 Sycamore in Delano, the operator’s utility and parking answers say water, sewer and trash are billed with rent each month. That wording does not establish that those charges are included in the advertised base rent. Electricity, cable and internet are the resident’s responsibility. Assigned garage spaces have rates and availability supplied by the leasing office.
In College Hill, 34Fourteen lists water and trash as included, with garage parking and pets carrying extra monthly fees. It has on-site laundry, and most units have a patio or balcony. For these two buildings, a monthly housing budget therefore needs the operator’s utility line items, garage quote and any pet fee alongside base rent. Their terms are examples, rather than neighborhood-wide prices.

Route 24: the trip out and the stop for coming back
Route 24 links The Hub at 207 South Sycamore with downtown and College Hill. The city’s August service alert says it remains free until further notice. Service is hourly on weekdays and Saturdays, with no Sunday or holiday service.
The August 2026 timetable gives a weekday example: The Hub at 1 p.m. to Hillside/Douglas at 1:14 p.m. Inbound, Douglas/Clifton at 1:34 p.m. reaches The Hub at 1:52 p.m. Those are scheduled bus segments of 14 and 18 minutes; walking and waiting add time. The outward and return timepoints differ, so the return boarding location matters.
For an evening return, the last published weekday departure from Douglas/Clifton is 6:34 p.m., reaching The Hub at 6:52 p.m. Saturday’s last listed departure there is 5:34 p.m., arriving at 5:52 p.m. A shift ending later needs another way home. These are timetable examples checked October 19, 2026, rather than live predictions.
Shopping hours and Sunday errands
Near College Hill’s Douglas Avenue corridor, Dillons at 3020 East Douglas publishes daily grocery hours of 7 a.m.–10 p.m. Its pharmacy closes earlier: 8 p.m. weekdays and 6 p.m. weekends, with a daily 1–1:30 p.m. break. Sunday pharmacy opening is 11 a.m. A late grocery stop is not also a late pharmacy stop.
Delano’s Phil’s Farm at 1711 West Douglas lists meat and farm-raised eggs, with Tuesday–Friday hours of 9 a.m.–6 p.m. and Saturday hours of 8 a.m.–1 p.m. That is a specialist food stop with a shorter shopping week than the Dillons example.
For a Sunday computer or printing visit, Advanced Learning Library at 711 West 2nd Street opens 1–5 p.m. The historical research pavilion upstairs is closed Sunday. Store and library hours were checked October 19, 2026.
Public park facilities and resident amenities
The city’s College Hill plan identifies tennis and basketball courts, a playground and walking path in the 23-acre College Hill Park. Its outdoor pool is seasonal: the 2026 regular swimming season ended September 6. A home near the park therefore provides access to different activities across the year.
At 225 Sycamore, resident amenities include bike storage and a repair shop, plus direct Delano Greenway access. Those on-site facilities belong to the apartment community. They are a different housing feature from the public courts and playground in College Hill Park.
The Delano profile and College Hill profile link the building, shopping and transport sources used here. The Wichita city guide also explains water-account services and choosing a waste hauler.
