Westside residential streets, Colorado Avenue buses and daily errands
About Old Colorado City
Old Colorado City combines West Colorado Avenue’s shops and restaurants with an older Westside residential setting. Route 3 connects the district with Downtown and Manitou Springs, while a full grocery shop leads toward Uintah Street.
A Westside home search starts beyond the shopping frontage
Old Colorado City’s commercial center follows West Colorado Avenue around 24th and 25th streets, with older storefronts, restaurants and galleries. PlanCOS identifies Old Colorado City among the city’s established historic neighborhoods. The former town joined Colorado Springs in 1917, but remains a distinct Westside center from Downtown’s Tejon Street corridor.
On the Colorado Avenue frontage, a home entrance may share its immediate surroundings with restaurants, shop deliveries and public parking. The relevant viewing details are the bedrooms’ position, the entrance from the pavement and any resident parking arrangement. Adjoining residential streets offer another setting within the same Westside search.
Route 3 follows Colorado Avenue toward Downtown and Manitou Springs
Mountain Metro lists Route 3 between the Downtown terminal and Manitou Springs Memorial Park along Colorado Avenue. It is the relevant corridor for a Westside-to-Downtown journey; the ZEB shuttle serves a separate Downtown route.
A workplace on Tejon Street adds the walk from the Downtown terminal or a connecting service. For errands toward Uintah Gardens, Route 16 has a transfer point at Colorado Avenue and 26th Street. The linked timetables cover each service’s outward and return departures.
The supermarket trip is separate from Colorado Avenue’s storefronts
King Soopers lists its Westside Uintah store at 1750 West Uintah Street, with grocery pickup available. That gives a weekly food shop a specific destination outside the central Colorado Avenue shopping blocks.
For someone living near Bancroft Park, this means two shopping patterns: restaurants and small purchases along Colorado Avenue, and a larger food shop toward Uintah Street. A pickup order needs a booked collection slot. Address and pickup availability were checked October 18, 2026.
The library is on Pikes Peak Avenue, with curbside holds
Old Colorado City Library is at 2418 West Pikes Peak Avenue. Its regular hours are 9 a.m.–7 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday–Saturday; it is closed Sunday. Pikes Peak Library District lists Route 3 as its bus connection.
For a ready hold, numbered stalls in front of the building offer curbside collection: follow the stall sign to contact staff. That lets a resident collect books without making a longer indoor visit, but needs an open branch and a ready hold. Hours were checked October 18, 2026.
Bancroft Park gives the commercial center an outdoor gathering space
Bancroft Park at 2408 West Colorado Avenue has a bandshell, picnic shelter and paths beside the shops. Community events use it at scheduled times; it is also a public outdoor stop between those events.
The Old Colorado City History Center at 1 South 24th Street faces the park and offers free gallery admission, making the park and museum easy to include in one first visit to the commercial center.
