About Cal Young
Cal Young’s residential streets lie between Delta Highway and Coburg Road, with Oakway Center, Oakmont Park and Sheldon Branch library among its everyday destinations. Apartment laundry arrangements vary, while Route 67 connects Coburg Road with downtown and a longer outer loop.
Residential streets between Delta Highway and Coburg Road
Cal Young occupies the north side of the Willamette River between Delta Highway and Coburg Road, extending north to Randy Pape Beltline. The City describes most of its land as low-density residential, with major shopping concentrated along Coburg Road, including Oakway Center.
The neighborhood’s name also appears on older maps covering a wider area. Its association boundaries changed in 2011, when land north of Beltline and west of Delta Highway became separate neighborhood associations. Today’s Cal Young profile covers the area within those revised limits.
Northgreen offers shared laundry, with in-unit machines available
Northgreen Apartments, at 1800 Cal Young Road, lists on-site laundry facilities and in-unit washers and dryers available, so supplied machines are not promised for every apartment. The property also lists covered dedicated parking, dishwashers, in-unit storage and a patio or balcony with each apartment.
Its posted pet policy requires pets to be at least one year old and limits dogs to 40 pounds at full maturity, with breed restrictions. The site publishes a $400 pet deposit and $40 monthly pet rent. These terms belong to Northgreen; they do not establish prices or policies for other Cal Young rentals.
Oakmont Park has a walking path and seasonal spray play
Oakmont Park is at 2295 Oakmont Way, just north of Oakway Center. The City lists a children’s play area, a small basketball area, picnic tables, naturalistic plantings and a soft-surface walking path in the 5.7-acre park.
The spray-play season runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with posted operating hours of 9 a.m.–7 p.m. Water play is therefore a summer feature rather than a year-round amenity.
Route 67 serves Oakway Center and Sheldon Plaza before its outer loop
LTD Route 67 starts at Eugene Station’s Bay P, crosses Ferry Street Bridge and follows Coburg Road past Oakway Center, Sheldon High School and Sheldon Plaza. It continues through the Crescent Avenue and Delta Oaks area, then reaches Valley River Center before returning to downtown along Country Club Road.
That routing makes the boarding location and direction important: the Oakway and Sheldon portion comes before the long outer loop on trips from Eugene Station. LTD also posts football-day detours that bypass stops around Ferry Street Bridge; the route page links the current schedule and service notices.
Willakenzie groceries and Sheldon Branch library
Market of Choice’s Willakenzie store is at 2580 Willakenzie and publishes daily hours of 7 a.m.–9 p.m. It includes groceries, produce, a bakery, meat and seafood departments, and prepared food from its kitchen, grill and sushi bar.
Sheldon Branch library is at 1566 Coburg Road. Regular hours are 9:30 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; noon–8 p.m. Tuesday; and 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It closes Sundays, has free parking and normally provides a 24-hour outside return slot, except during City holiday closures.
