The streetcar is fare-free, with a temporary schedule that currently removes Monday and Tuesday service.
Laundry and parking differ between downtown loft buildings
Block 2 Lofts at 115 E. Markham Street lists five shared laundry facilities, lobby elevators, package lockers and an underground garage. These are building amenities; its laundry listing does not promise a washer and dryer inside every apartment.
Rock Street Lofts at 308 Rock Street instead advertises full-size washer/dryer connections. Connections alone do not establish that machines are supplied. Its adjacent gated parking lot carries an additional fee. The operator lists one- to three-bedroom lofts and notes that finishes such as exposed brick and hardwood floors vary by home.
Mash & Vine is the current market on East Third
Mash & Vine Market at 409 E. Third Street occupies the former Stratton’s Market location in River Market Tower. Its current site lists wine, spirits and specialty provisions, including snacks and pantry items, with hours of 10 a.m.–10 p.m. Monday–Saturday and Sunday closed.
For a wider grocery selection, Kroger lists a store with pickup at 1100 E. Roosevelt Road, beyond the central River Market blocks. That is a separate destination from the specialty market on East Third.
The streetcar’s temporary schedule removes Monday and Tuesday service
METRO Streetcar rides are fare-free, but the current service alert changes the regular timetable. As checked October 23, 2026, there is no streetcar service on Mondays or Tuesdays. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday retain regular service under the alert.
On Fridays and Saturdays, only one streetcar operates from 8 a.m.–noon and 8 p.m.–midnight, with regular service between noon and 8 p.m. The alert says the temporary arrangement is expected until December 1, with a possible earlier return to regular service.
Main Library offers study space and visitor parking validation
Main Library at 100 South Rock Street reopened after renovation in 2025. Its current branch page lists study rooms, public computers, Wi-Fi, podcast spaces and a DIY Memory Lab. Makerspace access is listed for programs only. Regular hours are 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday–Saturday, with Sunday closed.
Library Square has a surface lot across Rock Street and a garage immediately north at Rock and President Clinton Avenue. The posted rate starts with 30 minutes free, then $2 for a stay of 31–60 minutes. Main Library visitors can ask staff to validate a ticket for an extended free period.
