Older homes around Kavanaugh Boulevard
Hillcrest’s commercial center follows Kavanaugh Boulevard, surrounded by older residential streets. The residents association describes architecture dating from the 1890s through the 1940s. Little Rock’s visitor bureau identifies the district west of downtown, with historic houses, cottages, restaurants and local shops.
The Heights is a separate neighborhood farther along Kavanaugh. Hillcrest’s houses and its business corridor offer different settings within the same neighborhood; the residents association traces the commercial spine to the former trolley route.
Shared laundry and selected in-unit machines at Arbor Pointe
Arbor Pointe at Hillcrest, 3802 Kavanaugh Boulevard, lists studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments and townhomes. It has two shared laundry centers; washers and dryers are included only in selected two-bedroom apartments. A studio or one-bedroom renter should therefore not assume the advertised machines are inside every home.
The operator lists a $200 fee for the first pet, $150 for the second, and $25 monthly pet rent per pet, with breed and weight restrictions. For two permitted pets, those listed charges total $350 upfront and $50 a month. Leasing hours include Saturday 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; the office is closed Sunday.
Route 1 follows Kavanaugh, with no Sunday service
METRO’s current Route 1, Pulaski Heights, timetable links the River Cities Travel Center with Kavanaugh and Markham, Kavanaugh and University, and Keightley and T. The stop list includes Kavanaugh at Oak, Elm, Walnut and Beechwood. It is a local bus route, separate from the downtown streetcar.
The posted schedule has no Sunday service. Saturday’s last departure from the downtown travel center is 3:58 p.m., compared with 5:40 p.m. on weekdays. These are departures from the terminal; the timetable gives later pickup times farther along Kavanaugh.
The Promenade trail provides a route into Allsopp Park
The city’s concrete trail starts at the western end of the Allsopp Promenade and descends to the existing Allsopp Trail and the southern park area. Cedar Hill Road lacks sidewalks, which is why the city provided this pedestrian connection from Hillcrest’s business district.
Beechwood groceries and a library on North Buchanan
Kroger’s Hillcrest store is at 614 Beechwood Street, with grocery pickup and a pharmacy. Fletcher Library is a separate destination at 823 N. Buchanan Street, with public computers, Wi-Fi, meeting rooms and four-person study rooms.
Fletcher opens at 9 a.m. Monday–Saturday. Monday and Wednesday hours extend to 8 p.m.; the other open days finish at 6 p.m. The branch is closed Sunday, so a weekend library visit is a Saturday trip.
