College Avenue errands, BART connections and the greenbelt

About Rockridge

Rockridge brings BART, groceries and library services onto College Avenue, alongside residential streets and the Rockridge–Temescal Greenbelt. Its rail connection runs through San Francisco toward the airport, while trips on other BART branches can require a transfer.

A College Avenue station for cross-Bay trips

Rockridge BART is at 5660 College Avenue on the Antioch–SFIA/Millbrae line. This gives the neighborhood a direct rail connection through San Francisco toward the airport. A destination on another branch can involve a transfer; the station’s published timetable separates weekday and weekend service.

For someone driving to the station, BART requires parking payment Monday–Friday from 4 a.m.–3 p.m. Parking is free on weekends and BART holidays, with weekday prices set by station and parking program. An early and late grocery option on College Avenue

Safeway at 6310 College Avenue lists grocery hours of 5 a.m.–midnight every day. It provides a supermarket option for a food shop before work or after an evening return.

The store also has a pharmacy, but it opens later and closes earlier than the grocery aisles. Its published weekday schedule includes a midday break. Store information was checked October 18, 2026.

Printing and evening library visits south of the station

Rockridge Branch Library at 5366 College Avenue offers internet computers, printing, a scanner and a reservable meeting room. It is south of BART on the same commercial corridor, making it a separate stop along College Avenue.

Regular Tuesday and Wednesday hours run until 8 p.m.; Sunday is closed. The multi-story building has an elevator and automatic doors at the College Avenue entrance. Air conditioning is limited to the meeting room and teen zone. Hours and facilities were checked October 18, 2026.

A neighborhood greenbelt between Hudson and Redondo

The city lists the Rockridge–Temescal Greenbelt along Temescal Creek from Hudson Street to Redondo Park. Known as FROG Park, it connects outdoor spaces within the neighborhood street network. Hardy Park and Dog Park are listed at 491 Hardy Street, while Redondo Park is at Redondo and Clarke.

The greenbelt’s community history describes two wooden play structures built by volunteers in 2001. Hardy Park and Redondo Park remain names for its individual park spaces.
