Andrée Clark Bird Refuge protects a lake and brackish wetland landscape in Santa Barbara.

Public paths and viewing platforms offer opportunities for walking and observing birds near the eastern end of the waterfront.
The photograph shows an earlier view across the refuge lake. Boating, fishing and feeding wildlife are prohibited. Use designated paths, keep dogs leashed and observe birds without approaching nesting or resting areas. Habitat maintenance can temporarily affect paths and viewpoints, so check city notices before choosing a route. Plan around weather and allow time to explore the interpretive features without disturbing the wetland.
