Stearns Wharf extends from the waterfront at the foot of State Street, with views across the water toward Santa Barbara’s hillside Riviera. The city dates the working wooden wharf to 1872.
Restaurants and gift shops are among the waterfront destinations on and around the pier. Santa Barbara Harbor lies along the shore from the wharf and serves commercial fishing boats and recreational vessels. A walk along the waterfront connects these two maritime settings with the State Street corridor inland.
