Cardiff State Beach provides a broad coastal recreation setting in southern Encinitas.

Sand, surf and views along the shoreline make it useful for a beach walk or an outing centered on the ocean.
Choose an authorized entrance and check current state-park information for parking, tides and water conditions. Surf activity and seasonal changes affect the character of the beach. The photograph shows an earlier shoreline view looking north rather than a guarantee of clear water, the same sand level or safe swimming conditions.
