El Presidio de Santa Bárbara State Historic Park interprets the military and civilian community established under Spanish colonial rule.

Preserved and reconstructed buildings connect a downtown visit with the layered history of Santa Barbara and its Indigenous communities.
The photograph shows the Presidio chapel during an earlier visit. The museum is open during construction, so check current admission, routes and building access before travelling. Special programs may require separate registration. Use designated visitor entrances, respect historic fabric and interpretive areas, and confirm accessibility or the particular building you want to see before planning a visit.
