Hammond Castle Museum combines a dramatic coastal building with the story of inventor John Hays Hammond Jr.

Built as his home and laboratory in Gloucester, the castle-like complex incorporates historic architectural elements and collections in an unusual setting above the Atlantic shore.
Check the museum’s current tour options and reserve the experience you want before arriving. Guided visits, self-guided admission and special events can have different schedules and access arrangements. The photograph shows part of the castle exterior; the building’s historic layout means routes and accessibility should be reviewed in advance.
