Harkness Memorial State Park occupies a former coastal estate in Waterford, with lawns, formal gardens and views over Long Island Sound.

Eolia, the estate’s mansion, gives the landscape an architectural focus, while the surrounding grounds offer room for a picnic, birdwatching or an unhurried walk.
The park is for coastal recreation, but swimming is not permitted. Mansion and garden tours have their own seasonal arrangements and should be checked separately from access to the grounds. The aerial photograph shows the estate and gardens; it should not be taken as confirmation that an interior tour is available.
Visitor details reviewed October 18, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
