The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix, also known as Ro Ho En, brings a pond, stone arrangements, planted paths, and carefully composed views to the city center.

Developed through Phoenix's relationship with Himeji, Japan, it rewards a slow circuit in which bridges, water, and vegetation reveal different perspectives at each turn.
Allow time to pause rather than simply walking through. Tea programs and cultural events have separate arrangements, and seasonal opening patterns can change; consult the garden's current visitor information before making a special trip.
Visitor details reviewed October 17, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
